Kenpo Sweden supports charity event after the earthquake in Chile

The Third of august the head instructor for Kenpo Sweden Mr Ingmar Johansson will be travelling to Chile for seminars. A charity event planned and executed by him. 100% of the money will be given to the children in the most effected areas after the earthquake in February 2010 in the south of Chile.
This is a big project with a lot of people involved. We have also a few sponsors that have helped to make this possible.

The local persons helping out in this project in Chile are Daniel Maulén, Cristián Ocarez, Claudio Soto and Elizabeth San Martin all with their own groups in Santiago. The person in charge in the south is Mr Mario Barrera who works on a daily basis to help the affected families in the region of Tomé and Dichato. He also runs the local Kenpo club.

At this point we are working on the last details and putting the last pieces together. Seminars will be conducted in Santiago the 4:th – 8:th of August. On the afternoon of the 8:th we are flying down to the city of Temuco for seminars, and on the 9:th we will be in the area of Conception to take a personal look at the effect after the tsunami/earthquake and then conduct a seminar in Tomé for 200 children. Where the money will be donated to buy sport equipment to the schools, for the children. There is a big need for everything but, this is where Mr Johansson has decided to donate the money.

Mr Johansson feels that it’s important, not only to help the Kenpo community but, all needed. The children needs the sports to enjoy and continue their daily life. Even if this is a small thing it does matter. There will be a contribution to the land were Mr Johansson was born and a land that is in need. It is important to act and help if one can. This is Mr Johansson’s contribution to Fuerza Chile and with a hope that there will be more solidarity in the future wherever mother earth strikes again.

Respectfully
Kenpo Sweden

Modern Efficient Self-Defence

Welcome to our English site and we hope you will like it. Our main site is in Swedish for the simple reason that we are Swedes and a lot of our school information goes out on the site. We will update this part with more interesting information for our international friends. Daniel Wiberg and myself would like to welcome you to our webpage.

The largest school with top quality

This is the largest Kenpo School in Scandinavia with 350 members. The school was founded in 1987 and has been actively providing the community of Norrköping with the highest standard of martial arts quality. Today our school trains with some of the most well known instructors on the international playground. Mr Richard "Huk" Planas is visiting our school 4-5 times every year for high quality teaching, and has done so for the last 10 years.

Our approach towards knowledge is to not just follow the development of Kenpo but to be leading in our field. The driving force of our school is Mr Ingmar Johansson, 5:th degree black belt. Mr Johansson teaches full time and has several contracts with schools in the area where he teaches physical education and self-defence.

Self-defence on the schedule

In Norrköping girls in the ages of 16 to 18 have the opportunity to choose self-defence as one of their courses in school due to a political decision. Our school was the first martial arts school in Sweden to offer this course. Our school constantly works with ethics and morals with all our members. Respect and discipline are other ingredients that are constantly topics in the school.

Kenpo Self-defence Studio has eight instructors that teach frequently at the school. All the instructors are personally taught by Mr Johansson to insure top quality.

The school has approx. 40% female students, which is a very big number in a martial art school. The large amount of female students come from our courses within the self-defence programs for schools and companies. We wil try to keep the webpage updated with information with what happens at our Studio ones again feel welcome to our webpage.
